Dr N J Muttucumaru (m)
Dr Muttucumaru the owner and clinical lead for the organisation, qualified as a Doctor in 1985 at The University of Leicester and specialised in a number of medical and scientific areas, including Orthopaedics and Psychiatry and Biochemistry, He became a General Practitioner in 1993 and has over 20 years of experience in primary care. In 2009 he was successful in his bid to provide the primary care needs for the Buckshaw Village development and soon afterwards opened a brand new surgery. Dr Muttucumaru has a wide range of interests, and is passionate in his desire to offer community based services for patients from the surgery. He also provides an innovative continuity of care model for patients located within the Oakbridge Retirement Village complex, specifically tailored to meet the needs of dementia patients and for long term rehabilitation patients. Dr Muttucumaru normally helps on the Walk In clinics on Mondays and Fridays, but typically has pre-bookable appointments mid-week.
Dr Sharma (m)
Dr Sharma has been a GP since 2008. He started his medical career at St Andrews and Manchester and worked locally in Chorley General Hospital up until 2004. He then trained as a GP at St Albans/Hemel and Watford. He moved to Buckshaw to be closer to his extended family. His areas of medical interest include Diabetes and Joint Injections / musculoskeletal medicine. Dr Sharma normally helps on the Walk In clinics on Mondays and Fridays, but typically has pre-bookable appointments mid-week and often on a Saturday.
Dr Stringfellow (f)
Dr Srtingfellow joined the team at Buckshaw Village Sugery in April 2017. A female doctor with a special interest in family planning and trained in carrying out detailed baby checks, she is a welcome addition to the team. Dr Stringfellow works Monday, Wednesday and Friday, she helps on the walk in clinic and also provide pre-bookable appointments.
Dr Wright (f)
Dr Wright joined Buckshaw Village Surgery in August 2017. She joined as a newly qualified G.P after completing her training in the North East. She has relocated to Chorley to be closer to family and friends. She currently works 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and most weeks has pre-bookable appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesday, on Fridays she helps with the walk in clinics.
Dr Tyacke (f)
Dr Tyacke joined Buckshaw Village Surgery in September 2017. A female doctor, who has moved from a surgery in Blackpool to be closer to home. Dr Tyacke works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and most weeks has pre-bookable appointments on Mondays and Tuesday as well as helping on the walk in clinics.
